iTube - the future of free music download? - App of the week # 24

They call it Playlist Manager for Youtube. But it’s more than that. iTube allows you to create personalised playlists with your favourite videos, and to view them offline, for FREE. The cool thing is that it’s not just music videos you can save. You can save any video (it can be a movie trailer, some funny cat videos or something more practical).  Amazing! A friend of mine recommended iTube to me recently. I gave it a go straightaway. I love it because I can have all my favourite songs and videos together, then listen and watch them at any time.

With iTube, it’s easier than ever to add a video to a playlist right after you saw it on YouTube, then to watch it again, whenever you want. Search for the song/video -> add it to Favourites or to a Playlist (you have to create the playlist first). That’s it! You can now listen to your favourite songs and watch videos, again and again, online or offline. Press the    button on the right hand side of the screen and you’ll get the lyrics for the song you’re
Just like iTunes, iTube has a section where you can see the Top 100 (changes every day), and you can select different genders of music (from blues to alternative rock and electronic music). Even if you don’t save the video you’ve watched to a playlist, you will find it saved in History (at least for a while). Other things you can do with this app:
  • Search playlists and channels and copy them immediately to be yours.
  • Display media info on the lock screen.
  • Publish the videos on Social Media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Whatsapp), send them via email or sms
  • Set a sleep timer
This is huge: You know that sometimes you can find a full movie on YouTube. I just discovered that you can save and watch this offline, as well! Of course, if watching a movie on your iPhone is what you want. The only drawback to iTube would be that it has ads. But this is something usual for free apps, isn’t it? iTube is something everyone will love. Free music and videos (maybe not the best ones), but hey… you can watch them offline, whenever you want!
