How to put ringtones on your iPhone

There are a number of ways to customise your iPhone, and one of the most fun is by setting up your own ringtones. The iPhone comes with a number of standard ringtones, but also offers you the chance to add hundreds of other ones from the App Store. The whole process is very easy and it takes no more than two minutes. In order to do so, you need:
  • an iPhone
  • a USB cable
  • a computer/laptop/MacBook with iTunes installed
To put a ringtone on your iPhone, follow these steps: 1. On your iPhone home screen, go into Settings. 2. Tap Sounds. 3. In Sounds, swipe down and select Ringtone. 4. Here, you have all the ringtones that are available for you – the standard ones and the bought ones as well.
  • If you already have the ringtone that you need, just select it.
  • If you want a new sound on your iPhone then tap the Store button which is on the right hand side corner. This will take you to iTunes Store where you can buy or download new ringtones.
5. After you download/buy a ringtone that you want, you will receive it as an attachment in an email. 6. Save the ringtone attached to your email on your computer. 7. Connect your iPhone to the computer and open the iTunes. 8. Double click the ringtone saved on your computer and this way it will be transferred into iTunes. Check this by verifying that your ringtone is listed in the "Ringtones" section of iTunes. 9. Synchronize your iPhone with your computer, making sure you have "Sync ringtones" enabled in iTunes. 10. Now, on your iPhone, go again into Settings > Sounds > Ringtone and there you should find your new ringtone listed at the top of the list. 11. Select the ringtone that you want and you are done! You can enjoy your lovely ringtone on your iPhone! You can assign the song/ringtone as a universal ringtone, or you can set up individual ringtones for specific contacts (for your mum, dad, sister, best friend and so forth). Now, your iPhone will be customised uniquely for you! What is your favourite ringtone? Share it with us!
